This is deeply sad news, right now it's difficult to find the words to describe my feelings at the loss and how I felt about Enid.
She was one of the first people to welcome me to the nkg and make me feel that I was part of the group. At meets or fly-ins she seemed to make a point of seeking me out to talk to but I think she did that with everyone. I last spoke to Enid at the Beacon where she gave me a severe rollicking for smoking (which I deserved) and was more concerned with my health than her own. Some of her words were prophetic but they will remain locked in the private area of my memory.
So many things are going through my head at the moment I'm a little tearful but I shall remember Enid as a warm, chatty, fun lady with a lively mind who wasn't afraid to speak it.
My heartfelt sympathy to Roger, words won't change anything but I do know how it feels.
Ta ra mate it was a privilege to call you friend.
Ride, drink & be merry
for tomorrow we may fly.
